Education is the heartbeat of transformation in Nyangoma Division. It is through education that families break cycles of poverty, youth find purpose, and communities become self-reliant.
At Nyangoma Development Organisation (NYADO), we view education not merely as schooling, but as a lifelong process of learning, skill development, and empowerment. Our education and training programs aim to ensure that every child, youth, and adult in Nyangoma has access to quality learning opportunities and the skills to thrive in today’s world.
While government efforts have expanded access to basic education, many rural learners in Nyangoma still face challenges such as poverty, school dropouts, and limited infrastructure.
NYADO addresses these challenges by:
In a community where many young people complete basic education without formal employment, NYADO bridges the gap through vocational and technical training.
Through partnerships with St. Joseph Technical Training Institute and other learning institutions, we help youth gain employable skills such as:
Carpentry and joinery
Tailoring and fashion design
Electrical installation
Welding and mechanics
ICT and digital literacy
Agribusiness and food processing
These programs empower youth to secure decent work or start small enterprises that sustain their families.
Be part of our mission to make education accessible to all. You can support our scholarship programs, sponsor vocational trainees, or volunteer as a mentor.
Education at NYADO goes beyond the classroom. The organisation also promotes adult literacy programs, enabling older members of the community to read, write, and participate in decision-making. Through community-based training sessions, adults learn practical life skills such as financial management, communication, and civic participation — making them more confident and informed citizens.
Gender equity is a key focus of NYADO’s education initiatives. Cultural and economic barriers often limit girls’ access to education, leading to early marriages and reduced life opportunities. We work closely with schools, parents, and faith leaders to raise awareness about the value of girls’ education, provide mentorship, and support school retention.
As outlined in our Strategic Plan (2025–2030), NYADO is establishing the Nyangoma Development Resource Centre — a dedicated hub for education, innovation, and capacity building.
This facility will:
Serve as a library and digital learning space.
Host training workshops and seminars.
Provide ICT access for youth and students.
Act as a community hub for resource sharing and research.
The centre symbolises our vision for a future where learning becomes a lifelong culture in Nyangoma.
Partnered with St. Joseph Technical Training Institute to offer vocational training.
Supported vulnerable learners through mentorship and resource mobilization.
Conducted adult literacy and leadership training for community members.
Initiated plans for the Nyangoma Development Resource Centre construction.
To improve access to quality education and equip the Nyangoma community with skills that enhance self-reliance, employability, and sustainable development.
